Aluminum camlock couplings/ fittings are available for water, petroleum products, slurry and dry powder for its good chemical and abrasion resistance. It is an economical, lightweight yet strong metal. Its size comes in a variety of sizes from 1/2" to 8". Handles and pins are brass or brass coated aluminum. Aluminum camlocks are extensively used in trash pumps, general purpose pumps, transfer pumps, IBC and tanks. Working pressure of aluminum couplings depends on the temperature and the size. For 1/2" to 2", the pressure is 250pis, 2 1/2" to 4" is 150 psi, 5" & 6" is 75 psi and 8" is 50 psi.
Aluminum camlock fittings come in a variety of sizes ranging from 1/2" to 8" according to MIL-C-27487/ISO A-A-59326. 1/2" through 4" and 6" parts are interchangeable, while 5" and 8" through 12" are not interchangeable for no standards are established for these specifications.
